Old Memories, New Friends?
on May 1st, 2012As we live our lives on a day to day basis, it can seem pretty calm after you reach a certain point. And you will.
Now and then you are startled by something you felt you would never know. For me, this weekend I was blown away. My dh’s son was killed in Army training in 1985. Now and then I enter his name on a search on my computer and guess what. I was reading a blog and it was describing what had happened to our son and actually printed his name.
I was excited and scared at the same time…here was someone who was there when it happened, who held this kids skull together to try to stop the bleeding….our 19 yr old whose main dream in life was to be a Ranger. I emailed the guy and waited for an answer, scared he would answer and scared he would not..he did, cautiously and I don’t blame him…questions were being asked about a horrible experience in his life.
It is not so much the questions as it is knowing he was there when our son lost his life. a real live connection……thanks for listening..

Wow, that is amazing, God surely had his hand in you finding this man….thanks for sharing….
